Solution to UV ink detachment on the surface of thin film materials compared to printing
Author:
UV ink printed on the surface of thin film materials is more prone to detachment than UV ink printed on paper surfaces, mainly because the surface tension of thin film materials is lower, making it difficult for UV ink to firmly adhere to their surfaces.
Generally, the surface tension of thin film materials must reach 38mN/m or above to firmly bond with UV ink.
Solution: Before leaving the factory, the material supplier must perform corona and coating treatment on the thin film material to increase its surface tension.
Compared to these two treatment methods, the cost of corona treatment is lower, but the stability of the treatment effect is poor. The corona treatment effect will gradually weaken over time, especially when the thin film material is stored in a high humidity environment, the corona treatment effect weakens faster.
Therefore, in the actual printing process, in order to achieve good printing results, it is recommended to perform online corona treatment on the thin film materials that require corona treatment. Although the cost of coating treatment is high, its treatment effect is stable and the surface tension is not affected by time.
